I am sorry to hear of Aunt Shirley's passing. I remember the wonderful times we had in Shirley's home as young kids. I loved feeling a part of the Morris big family when visiting and have been lucky enough to have visits from many of you. Even a couple of Shirley's grandchildren spent time in Yellowknife with my family. Mom always talked of her sister Shirley's sense of adventure, her desire for knowledge and education and her strength. And I saw that in her as we all did. And all of you children have been encouraged to follow her lead. So good to know that you are all together to remember her and all of her accomplishments. When I think of Shirley I think of her always getting right to the point in a conversation. When we talked it was always direct and meaningful. I am sorry to not be with all of you but I am thinking of all the family. I think of Mom and Dad's passing most days, still miss them but am so thankful for them and for the family that we are all part of. Shirley was so proud of all of you kids, of your partners and of all her grandchildren. Love Judy

I remember going to your Mom's birthday party with my Mom, a happy time. Though I have not seen Shirley for awhile, she always had chat and a friendly smile. With sympathy.

Shirley taught me of the power of a promise; made while young and kept through the many years. She was rock-steady, loving and committed. She comforted us in loss, supported us through the good and not so great times.

Just wanted to convey my condolences to the Morris family for your sadness today. I remember Mrs. Morris very well. She was a lovely lady, always very kind. Due to distance I cannot attend, and despite the sadness of the occasion it would have been nice to see you all again. My father (late 1995) always spoke highly of the Morris kids (!). I wish you all, peace and strength in the days ahead.
