Raymond Fraser Black Obituary

RAYMOND FRASER BLACK

With sadness, we announce the passing of Ray Black of Richmond Hill, formerly of Foresters Falls. Ray passed away peacefully, in hospital, with family by his side, on Monday December16, 2024. He was 91 years old. Beloved husband of Rini Black (nee de Boer).Kind, caring father of John (Kristen), Mitchell (Christine) and Michael (1969-1980). Grandfather of Megan, Dylan, Charlotte and Katie and great-grandfather of Noah. Ray was predeceased by his siblings Stewart (Stella), Dorothy Sherk (Jess), Vi Miller (Stafford), Willard, and Mervin (Elaine) Black. Ray worked at CN Railways as a locomotive mechanic and shop manager for 36 years. He enjoyed retirement for longer than he worked. Ray enjoyed spending his time with family at the Ottawa River on the farm property where he was born. He travelled, with Rini, throughout North America and to many sunny destinations. He was a skilled handyman who could repair, repurpose or make just about anything. Ray preferred to listen to what people were up to over talking about himself and his regular phone calls are missed by many already.  A Graveside Service  will be held in Beachburg Union Cemetery on Saturday May 24, 2025 at 2pm., followed by a light luncheon in St. Andrews United Church Beachburg.  Arrangements entrusted to the Fraser-Morris and Heubner Funeral Home Cobden.
