In Loving Memory of Linda Faye Waite (née Lyons)

December 5, 1948 – May 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the peaceful passing of Linda Faye Waite (née Lyons) on May 2, 2025. She left this world as she lived in it—with grace, humour, and surrounded by love. Born on December 5, 1948, in Westmeath, Ontario, Linda was the beloved daughter of William and Lillian Lyons. From a young age, Linda’s vibrant spirit and warm heart made her a cherished friend, a trusted confidante, and the soul of every gathering. In August of 1966, she married Carl Waite, who predeceased her in November 2024. Together, Linda and Carl were affectionately known throughout the Ottawa Valley as “Ma & Pa.” Their home on the Kerr Line became a gathering place of joy and community—where neighbours and friends gathered for sledding, ATV rides, music, laughter, and homemade ice cream. Their door was always open and there was always enough to eat! Linda lived life fully and generously. She loved to laugh—her quick wit and practical jokes became the stuff of legend. She found joy in exploring new places, building lasting friendships, and being involved in her community. But her greatest joy was her family, to whom she gave her unconditional love, unwavering support, and endless affection. She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her spirit: Her brothers Willis (Betty) Lyons, Jerry (Elisabeth) Lyons, and Wayne (Nancy) Lyons; She was predeceased by her brother Donald (Betty) Lyons.Her children Sheri Boyd (Bryan) and Jamie Waite (Christine); Her cherished grandchildren Tyler, Ashley, Jeremy, Noah, Connor, and Willow. Linda’s love extended far beyond the immediate—she held a special place in her heart for her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, each of whom she loved as her own. Linda’s legacy is one of laughter, love, and the kind of strength that quietly carried others through. Her memory will forever echo across the fields of the Valley, in the warmth of a summer sunset, and in every shared story that begins with, “Remember when Ma & Pa…” Friends may call at the Fraser-Morris and Heubner Funeral Home Cobden, on Wednesday May 7, 2025 from 2pm until 5 pm
