JOAN IRIS BAILEY

  It is with sadness we announce the passing of Joan Bailey of Ottawa, who passed away peacefully at Carlingview Manor LTC, on Sunday April 26, 2026 in her 93rd year. Joan Bailey (nee Peever), was the daughter of the late Richard Peever and Janet Ross and is predeceased by her only child, David Bailey (1987). Joan leaves behind many friends in Canada and the United States whose lives were enriched by her valued friendship. They remember well her kind personality, quick wit, love of life and marvelous sense of humor. Before her retirement in Canada, Joan was a R.N. living and working most of her life in the United States where she was a head floor nurse in community hospitals in California and Wisconsin. A graveside service will be held in Cobden Union Cemetery at a later date to pay respects to and celebrate Joan’s life. The family and friends would like to thank the staff and medical personnel at Carlingview Manor for the excellent care provided to Joan over the years she was a resident there. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada with appreciation. Arrangements entrusted to the Fraser-Morris & Heubner Funeral Home Cobden.
