Jean Dunsmore Hooper

 Peacefully, and surrounded by her children, Jean Hooper passed away on November 20th, 2025, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of George (predeceased 2013), and an amazing, much-loved mum to Kenneth (Julie) and Lorna. A devoted grandma to Sean (predeceased 2020), Jean was also predeceased by her brothers Bob and Alec and is lovingly remembered by her “wee” sister Christine (Joe) and sister-in-law Louise Kilian (Jake). She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, and her great nephew. Jean was born in Scotland and was the oldest of four siblings. After marrying George, they bravely immigrated to Canada in 1968, and after some back and forth between Canada and Scotland, they eventually made their permanent home in Cobden in 1977. There, Jean lived a wonderful and fulfilling life within her community. She enjoyed curling and was an active member of the Cobden Civinette Club. Jean worked for many years at Star-Set Jewelers in Eganville, a job she truly loved. She also stayed active through her exercise program and treasured the time spent sharing coffee and conversation afterward. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted member of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church congregation in Cobden. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the positive spirit she shared with everyone she met. Friends may call at the Fraser-Morris & Heubner Funeral Home Cobden, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 3:00pm – 6:00pm. Service in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Cobden, Wednesday, November 26th at 11:00am. Interment Cobden Union Cemetery.
