JAMES SCOTT McMULLIN
With deep sadness, we announce the sudden death of James McMullin of Pikwakanagan, Ontario on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the age of 38 years. Born January 18, 1985 in Edmonton, Alberta. James was the beloved son of Wendy Jocko and Henry (Paula) McMullin. He was a loving father to Keysha and Kylie (Amanda), Keenan (Kristen), and twins Asher and Everleigh (Christie). James will be greatly missed by siblings Tracy Madigan (Troy), Marshall Catonio (Jozie), Davis Catonio (Samantha), Taylor McMullin (Manny), nephews McGregor and Lachland Madigan along with numerous relatives and friends.
James proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Canadian Regiment and later worked as a Hydro vacuum Operator for many years at Clean Water Works in Ottawa.
James had a very strong connection to his Algonquin culture. He was a very skilled drummer who sat with the Bear Nation Drum for many years and was a co-founding member of the Spirit Wolf Drum. Over the years, James participated in many Pow Wows, showcasing his drumming talents and sharing his culture at many prestigious events.
He will be remembered for his charismatic, fun-loving, humorous and adventurous personality. A natural athlete, he excelled in various sports, particularly hockey during his youth, an achievement he took great satisfaction in.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at his mother Wendy's home, 359 Ininatig Inamo, Pikwakanagan, Ontario from 10 am until 6 pm. James will lie in state at his mother's home until the day of his funeral service, which will be held at the Makwa Community Centre located at 83 Kagagimin Inamo on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 10:00 am, with Interment Service taking place at Chibekamig Cemetery, Pikwakanagan, Ontario.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all friends and neighbors for their love and support during this extremely difficult time. They would also like to thank the Renfrew County Paramedic Service and OPP Renfrew Detachment for their professional assistance and support. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Heubner Funeral Home in Barry’s Bay.
As James embarks on his spiritual journey, he will forever be in our hearts. XXXXX
