Emile passed away at 8.45 PM on December 14, 2022 in his 96th year. Emile was the loving husband of 72 years of the late Sylvia Mathilda Giroux (nee Radtke). Proud and loving father of Patricia Charette (late Robert M.) David, Paul (Helen) Daniel (Rebecca) Peter (Deborah). Grandfather of 11 grandchildren , Manya , Nicole , Connor , Andrea , Julia , Alex , Jesse , Angela , Derek , Mallory , Brittany . Great grandfather of 14. Predeceased by his parents Isidore and Laurette Giroux and sisters Jeannette (late Adrian) Theresa (late Arnold) Reina (late Kenneth) and brother Roy (Irene and Bob Mitchell). Emile was a professional travel agent for over 70 years, arranging individual travel plans, group tours, and acting as a tour guide and tour escort to destinations worldwide. Favourite destination with groups was the Republic of Ireland where Sylvia and Emile travelled to many, many times. They travelled very extensively throughout the world by air, land and sea. Emile served his community as alderman on Pembroke City Council, is a former member of Pembroke Kiwanis, Kinsmen and K-40 service clubs. Long-time member and past president of the Pembroke Horticultural Society. Emile served as lector/ commentator, a cantor with the Resurection Funeral Choir and a former member of the Parish Council at the Church of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, where he was a parishioner for over 70 years. A funeral mass will be celebrated on December 21, 2022 at 11.00AM in the Church of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, Pembroke. Interment at St Columbus Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations to Holy Name of Jesus Church restoration fund would be greatly appreciated.
