It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Elda Spence of Cobden, who passed away peacefully in Renfrew Victoria Hospital, on Saturday August 13, 2022 in her 92nd  year.  Elda Spence nee Pettigrew, beloved wife of the late Murray Spence and by first marriage the late John Bennett. Dear mother of Larry (Grace) Bennett, Bruce Bennett, Jack (Patti Ann) Bennett, Brenda Byce and Ross (Darlene) Spence. Also survived by Nancy Bennett, and 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters-in-law Vi (Dawson Welk), Angie Bennett (late Ray), Shirley Vincent (late Reggie), brothers-in-law Harold Daber (late Evelyn), Wilf Smith (late Rita), several nieces, nephews.  Predeceased by her parents John and Ada Pettigrew, son Terry (Karen) Bennett, sister Elsie (late Ellard Ross).   Family / Friends may call at the Fraser – Morris and Heubner Funeral Home Cobden, On Friday August 19,2022 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9pm.  Thence to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cobden for service on Saturday August 20, 2022 at 11am. Interment Cobden Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to Caressant Care Retirement Social Fund would be appreciated. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff and volunteers of Caressant Care Cobden.
