born August 26, 1931, Simcoe Ontario, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday May 21, 2017 in his 86th year.  Parents were Reginald and Edith Clark of 16 James St. Simcoe, Ontario.  Sisters -  Jean Burns (Ron) London, Ontario;  Patricia Nellas (Melvin) Villa Nova,  Ontario;  Edith Lynne Heaslip (Bill) Vermilion, Alberta;  Raymond Clark  (Sandy) Courtice, Ontario; Terrance Clark (Prash Nadarajah),  Toronto, Ontario. Graduate of Simcoe Composite High School, Simcoe, Ontario.  Worked in the meat department for several different grocery stores, trained and became a butcher.  Chuck met Alice (DeCloedt) at Steinberg’s grocery store in Delhi, Ontario.   They were married in Delhi, August 1, 1959, started married life and had their first 3 children in Brantford, Ontario.   After a time in Brantford, they moved to Simcoe where Chuck worked for IGA as head of the meat department and they had their fourth child. Chucks four children are Lori Clark, Ottawa; Lisa Clark (Larry Mulligan), Cobden; Lynn Clark, Foresters Falls, deceased February 7, 1999; Douglas Clark, (Liana Vieira) Campbellville. 5 grandchildren, Stephanie, Breenah, (Josh Jones) and Hannah Mulligan and Jordan and Christopher Clark. In November 1973 Chuck and Alice bought a Red & White grocery store in Whitney Ontario that they lost to fire June 29th, 1975.  They lost both their business and home which was attached.  Following this disaster, Chuck and Alice decided to buy the Red and White store in Cobden at 35 Main Street.  They successfully ran their business until November of 1986 when they sold and retired.Chuck was an active member of the Cobden Business Association and sat on municipal council for 4 ½ years.  He was treasurer of Cobden Curling Club for 11 years and an active curler.  In addition to this he sat on the VON board of directors, volunteered for VON and did Income Tax Returns for seniors (after retirement Chuck attended Algonquin College accounting).  He drove for Cancer Society, Volunteered at the local tourist booth.   Chuck enjoyed his retirement, travelled extensively and was proud of his family. Friends may call at the Fraser-Morris & Huebner funeral home, Cobden, Thursday May 25, from 2-4 and 7-9pm.  and Friday from 9:30 until 11am. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11am in the funeral home chapel.  Private interment. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Lynn Clark Scholarship fund at Opeongo H.S. are appreciated.
