HAWKINS’ GREENHOUSE

July 21, 1930 – May 15, 2016

Suddenly and peacefully, in the Pembroke Regional Hospital.  Predeceased by Ellis beloved husband of over 66 years.  Mother of Melvin Hawkins (Chrystal), Cheryl Richards (late Andy), Richard Hawkins, Mary Lynn O’Brien (Chris) and Janice Mageean (Mitch).   She is survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.   Pre-deceased by daughters Doris and Ruth and her sisters and brother, Annie Mayhew, Mary (Alvin) Craven and Christopher Edwards.  Also survived by her sister-in-law AEnid McMaster (late Eric). 

Beulah and her late husband Ellis were well known in the community for volunteering their time and efforts.  When you entered her home you were always met with a smile and never left with an empty stomach.  She will be fondly remembered as a loving, compassionate and caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and neighbour.  After 13 years as founder of Hawkins’ Greenhouse, she retired and her favourite pastime was knitting.  Family members will miss her socks, mitts, scarves and other requested creations. 

Thank you to the dedicated [Ma1] staff of the Caressant Care Home.  Service will be held at the Whitewater Wesleyan Community Church, Cobden on Saturday May 21st at 2:00 p.m.  Lunch and interment will follow.  Donations to the Wesleyan Church can be made at the Fraser - Morris and Heubner Funeral Home Ltd. Cobden.
