Fraser-Morris & Heubner Funeral Home was founded in the summer of 1876 by Thomas and Robert Fraser. The original name was Fraser Brothers Furniture Dealers and Undertakers. In 1901 Thomas Fraser purchased his brother’s interest in the business. Thomas Fraser’s son, Herb Fraser, took over the business when his father died in 1903.

During the late 1930’s to the mid 1950’s, Herb Fraser worked very closely with William ( Bill ) Reynolds Funeral Home, Beachburg. Herb passed away in March 1957 and Duncan Morris operated the funeral home, until he purchased it January 1, 1958. The name was changed to Fraser-Morris Funeral Home. Duncan operated the business until he sold the funeral home and furniture store to Wayne and Betty Heubner July 1, 1980. Duncan passed away suddenly in August 1980.

Wayne and Betty continue to operate the funeral home under the name of Fraser-Morris & Heubner Funeral Home Ltd. Their son Warren ( Megan ) Heubner graduated in Funeral Service (class of 2002) and currently owns Heubner Funeral Home in Barrys Bay. Fraser-Morris & Heubner Funeral Home is the 2nd oldest funeral home in Renfrew County and has been meeting the needs of the various communities since 1876. Wayne and Betty are strong believers in community involvement. Wayne is a member of the Cobden Masonic Lodge and Beachburg Lions Club. He was a Beaver and Cub Leader, coached minor league ball and has actively been involved with the Cobden Fire Department and later the Whitewater Region Fire Department as fire chief for 20 years. Betty is a Registered Nurse working full time at a hospital in Ottawa while assisting at the funeral home on days off.
